What is JobMoves?

JobMoves is an advice and support service available to social housing tenants on rehousing options within the North of England

JobMoves helps social tenants who:

  • Have a job that is too far to commute
  • Have a job offer that would require a housing move to take up
  • Have an apprenticeship that is too far away from home to commute

JobMoves helps tenants with:

  • Advice on suitable and affordable housing options
  • Contacting social landlords to try and get re-housed
  • Applications to housing registers (waiting lists) with social landlords closer to the workplace
  • Joining and participating in choice based lettings schemes for consideration for suitable homes
  • Applications to mutual exchange schemes to consider swapping homes with another social tenant
  • Planning and performing the actions needed to try and find and secure a new home closer to the workplace

The JobMoves pilot scheme is delivered by the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) and funded and supported by Communities and Local Government (CLG).
